These four gates and pair of sliding panels was a collaborative project with Martina Lorey Architects, Dan Darbyshire of Darbyshire Machine, and AB Fabrication & Design.
The gates and panels are constructed of heavy wall steel tubing and 4” x 3/8” thick steel flat bar, fabricated within strict tolerances. From the smallest to largest gate, the weights range from 1000 lbs - 1700 lbs, yet operate effortlessly due to the smart design of the bearing pivot system and accurate installation. Sealed with a matte clear coat to show off the depth of color in the mill scale finish of hot rolled steel.
Sliding Door
Designed and developed in house, this 12’ sliding door system features a 6’ x 8’ fixed window paired with a 6’ x 8’ sliding door. Both fashioned with Low E insulated glass. The door is hung on a top rail system, different from common manufacturers bottom rail systems. The user never has to worry about cleaning the bottom rail to ensure smooth action, this top rail system continues to operate with little effort, noise, or maintenance.
